Job Summary:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Driver will be responsible for the transportation of pipe and metal retort materials over local routes.

Employment Class: Full time, Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm/7am-3:30pm (flexible), required overtime as needed

Duties Include:
Transportation of pipe and metal retort materials utilizing a one ton truck with up to a 53 foot trailer
Load trucks to maximize the use of space and distribute weight accordingly, and to ensure safety on the road 
Secure loads by using approved blocking, padding and tie down methods 
Routinely conduct security checks and inspections
Make emergency roadside adjustments and repairs
Follow local road safety regulations
Ensure vehicle and axle weights meet regulatory requirements 
Keep records of loads delivered and picked up, including arrival and departure times, and maintain vehicle log books (fuel consumption, mileage,                hours of service)

Qualifications:
Experience with driving a one ton truck with a 53 foot trailer
Thorough understanding of completing driver logs and trip sheets
Pre-inspection and load securement experience
Minimum of a class 5 license with experience
Ability to remain alert and maintain a high level of concentration
Good time management skills
Good judgment and the ability to react quickly in emergency situations
The mechanical ability required to make minor repairs
Valid driver s license with less than 5 demerits
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Successful completion of a Fit to Work Exam   an evaluation of flexibility, back fitness, strength, and cardio
Forklift experience an asset

Note:
All work gear provided with the exception of CSA approved steel toed work boots
